Anxiety and Obsessive Thinking

Anxiety and Obsessive Thinking Can Be Overcome

Worries about your life

Worries about your life, relationships, or food and your body image may be wreaking havoc in your life.

Counselling can help you feel calmer, more relaxed, and at peace with yourself.

When you’re worrying all the time – whether it’s about food, your body, or any other issue, it can be hard to get through the day.

You may feel obsessed with thoughts that you can’t control.

You may wake up with a feeling of dread – you feel something bad is going to happen.

To the outside world, you may appear to be “functioning” quite well.

But on the inside, there is a completely different story.

You’re overwhelmed and exhausted.

You’ve decided it’s time to get the help of a therapist.

Registered Psychologist

I understand anxiety and obsessive negative thinking. I was diagnosed with Bulimia in my early 20s. I was anxious and constantly worried about how I looked. I was terrified of getting fat.

Thankfully I found the right therapist who helped me overcome my anxiety and my eating disorder. Today I live a fulfilling life with my husband in Calgary.

I love my work and care deeply about my clients. I get the pain and struggle you have and know how to help you find healthy ways of coping and to overcome your worries and fears.

I overcame my trying past and that is why I know you can too – Even if you think therapy works for everyone but you… it’s not true!

Competent, creative and compassionate… this is how I would describe psychologist, Carol Fredrek. My knowledge comes first hand from knowing of the excellent work she did with clients as a therapist at the Calgary Women’s Health Collective.Joan Hollenberg, Senior Therapist and Co-Founder of the Calgary Women’s Health Collective

My focus is helping you find lasting healing.

The most important aspect of therapy is the quality of our relationship. I make an effort to build a trusting and collaborative relationship with you where you feel safe to make the changes you need to make to have a fulfilling life. I will honour and respect your process so you can work at a pace that you are comfortable with.

I have over 40 years of experience offering compassionate and caring therapy with people from all walks of life. I use research-proven counselling methods such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) These are some of the most effective therapy approaches used today. Sometimes these methods can turn your life around in less time than you think. I have an online platform for EMDR.

I will work with you

I will work with you to overcome the blocks that are preventing you from having the life you want to live.

  • A life free from anxiety.
  • A life free from obsessive thoughts.
  • A life where you feel free to live the way you want.

I offer counselling sessions:
